I’m an experienced copy editor, proofreader and anthologist. Back in the nineties, I got my start as a freelancer at one of Canada’s largest and leading independent trade publishers. There, I gained experience in copy editing as well as book layout, working on a series of Royal Commission reports and a number of current affairs, history and art-history titles. Subsequently, I copy edited the celebrated critical arts and culture publication Fuse (where I also sat on the board of directors for eight years). I still take on select copy editing engagements—in 2020, I worked with a noted interfaith theologian to revise a manuscript about the Jewish origins of the New Testament.
In 2013, I edited Friend. Follow. Text. #storiesFromLivingOnline, the first anthology of literary fiction about social media. Friend Follow Text won a Silver Award in the Best Anthology category of the 2104 IndieFab Book of the Year awards celebrating independent and university presses internationally. The book, which featured 23 authors including Zoe Whittall, Steven Heighton, Greg Kearney, Jessica Westhead and Megan Stielstra, is now, sadly, out of print but is still, fittingly, available for Kindle.
